Pas de bourrée

 

 

-bourrée step. It is both a traveling step, and can be executed in place.

 

 

Definitions of the different pas de bourrée:

 

Pas de bourrée dessous means to pas de bourrée under.

Pas de bourrée dessus means to pas de bourrée over.

Pas de bourrée devant means to pas de bourrée in front.

Pas de bourrée derrière means to pas de bourrée in back.

Pas de bourrée en avant means to pas de bourrée forward.

Pas de bourrée en arrière means to pas de bourrée backward.

Pas de bourrée bateau means to pas de bourrée boat-like.

 

 

HOW TO:

 

Pas de bourrée dessous

 

When doing a pas de bourrée dessous, you step up into the demi pointe, one foot stepping behind, then other foot executing side, and then finishing in front fifth, heels lowered.

 

Pas de bourrée dessus

 

When doing a pas de bourrée dessus, you step onto the demi pointe, crossing front, opening side, and finishing fifth postion back.

 

Pas de bourrée devant

 

When doing a pas de bourrée devant, you step into the demi pointe front, open side, and close with the same leg front.

 

Pas de bourrée derrière

 

When doing a pas de bourrée derrière, you step onto the demi pointe behind, opening up to the side, and closing with the same leg back.

 

Pas de bourrée en arrière

 

When doing a pas de bourrée arrière, you step up to the demi pointe in your fourth position backward, and then bring the front leg to meet the back, then the back leg closes fifth position back.

 

Pas de bourrée en avant

 

When doing a pas de bourrée en avant, you step to the fourth front on demi pointe, bring the back foot to meet the front and then close fifth front.

 

Pas de bourrée bateau

 

Pas de bourrée bateau is the combination of pas de bourrée en avant and pas de bourrée en arrière. When you do this step, instead of landing in fifth, the front foot, you Degagé the foot front, and then go right into the pas de bourrée en arrière, rocking back and forth in a boat-like way.
